Socials

Every sorority girl loves her socials, I mean isn’t that the highlight of it all? You get to meet hot fraternity guys looking all perfect while raising money for a philanthropy (aww, how cute), or have them hand you whatever cheap alcohol they are serving that night. Either way it’s a great time. At schools with pretty big Greek life, parties with themes are a huge thing. If you’ve ever danced, you’re in luck because you already have a whole set of props and outfits to use. Just bring random accessories to school; you will need them. Anything neon, American flag, sports teams, animal print, hippie, or angel wings will do just fine. Also throw in a couple plain white tees for paint parties, and anything you might need to make your own t-shirt for. Hopefully a majority of your socials will be wet (serve alcohol) to bypass the awkwardness at first. These are the perfect places to put on your charm and ask a guy to play beer pong with you. Don’t be shy or you could miss out on finding your fraternity big or little. The guys want to talk to you as much as you want to talk to them, so if you can think of something to say before they do, go ahead and socialize. One popular opening line of choice for many at wet socials is, “hey, where’s the alcohol?” It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of the times the guys will offer to show where it is, and then you can start by asking their name and whatever else pops in to your mind. If you say you want to play beer pong, it is a sure fire way to get a guy to play with you and talk to you as you take part in a fun game.

Socials are also the perfect places to become closer with your sisters. Whether it’s getting ready with them, or seeing them in the bathroom and telling them all about the guy you are dancing with, it’s a perfect time to make lots of memories. Make sure to take tons of photos for Instagram and such because how else are you going to show the world how much fun you’re having? Never EVER leave a sister behind. Some girls can go a little too hard at socials, and it’s your duty to help out. If you see a girl clearly not in her right state of mind help her out because you would want someone to do the same for you. It doesn’t matter if you know her personally or not. Having a great social calendar rules, so don’t wreck it for the rest of your house by doing something stupid. Most importantly though, have an awesome time because you definitely deserve it.
