Okay so you're home for Christmas break, and you want to see all of your old friends from high school or whomever else you missed while having the time of your life at college. WARNING: this can begin to chip away at your money quickly, and before you know it you're spending all your money going to lunch, dinner, or shopping with your friends and then you're going back second semester broke. We are here to help give you some cheaper ideas to get the old crew back together. Have a Christmas cookie party where you all bring over a different kind of cookie to someone's house. This is awesome because who doesn't love cookies?? Plus girls and food are a great mix because it creates the perfect environment to tell your tales of debauchery, and brag about whose semester was the best (obviously it was yours). If you happen to run out of things to talk about, which is pretty hard if you're anything like my friends, you can always watch the classic movies like Elf, Home Alone, or any of the movies from The 25 Days of Christmas. Have a home spa day with your girls. Get out your nail polish, buy some face masks for $2 at CVS, and get some moscato (or apple sparkling cider if your parents are there) for a nice way to relax after the stressful finals you've just taken. This kind of night totally calls for any Nicholas Sparks movie, or basically anything that Zac Efron is in. If you want to do something fun with your friends, instead of going out to eat with 8 different people go skiing/snowboarding/ or tubing. This will make for some great facebook uploads and Instagram pics, plus you should totally enjoy winter's beauty while you can. Hey, you can even throw what you know at the top of the mountain or on the ski lift. If you live not too far from a big city, you and your friends can all pack up in the car or take the train for a nice day trip. Get an early start, and bring breakfast and snacks for throughout the day! Then eat a big meal in the afternoon, so you don't have to spend too much money.
